AI-Powered Scam Detector

Onboarding new users - made fast and easy. Our team spent 3 weeks redesigning our original onboarding because we wanted users to have an interconnected experience that made sense.

The design goal was to seamlessly combine our three new AI features into an easier onboarding experience. The business goal was to show off our new scam detection suite and get new users to join.

The look and feel of our previous products felt outdated, so we wanted to freshen up the illustrations with a minimalist, modern approach. We focused on highlighting the feature simplicity and device of use.

The onboarding itself highlighted our three main detection features including spotting deepfakes and fake audio, checking inboxes for email scams, and analyzing text scams. The experience itself was designed for both mobile and web.

We also listened to our customers and considered their feedback. We asked them to critique our current onboarding but we also focused on discovering their knowledge base and comfort level with artificial intelligence.

With feedback and a brand direction, we moved on to ideation and brainstorming which included meetings with PMs, drawing out user flows in Figma, and wire-framing.

After a long design process we were able to define the experience into three main goals achieved.

  • We predicted that a three-step onboarding process, and reduced number of screens, would lead to better usability.

  • If we design a fast but meaningful onboarding experience that educates users on our AI features, they are more likely to complete the sign up thus increasing the conversion rate.

  • We worked with the marketing team to highlight our AI-powered scam detection within the main website, and throughout their social media campaigns, thus increasing our chances of gaining new customers.

We created a unified scam detection feature bundle with quick, insightful onboarding which helped both achieve our user conversation goals and bring the product to market with a more impactful AI detection marketing campaign.
